Janet Alexander is a
committed triathlete, who draws her experience
from a varied career base, including teaching,
sales and marketing and owning an advertising
& design agency. As the co-owner of Elite Performance in
Auckland, New Zealand, she successfully worked
with clients requiring sports and orthopeadic
rehabilitation who had previously failed in
traditional medical practices. Janet has
taught with Paul since 1997.

Alex's thoughts
'After listening to a large
number of you wonderful CHEK professionals, I
hear a common theme in the challenges you
face. One
of those is returning to your facilities with a
drastically different perspective on health and
exercise and how you will now work with your
clients, patients and fellow
colleagues.
The
task in hand is not only to assess your clients
and to
re-establish a starting point, but
additionally to incorporate all the CHEK
material and techniques you have learned, could
become quite
overwhelming.
All we can do is take our own
small steps in the right direction; it would be
unwise to assume that we can achieve everything
at once. So, take your time with your individual
actions. These can collectively make a massive
contribution to your client's well-being. In
addition, working with a different
philosophy may cause some passionate
debates and interested attention from your
collegues!
It takes courage to stand out from
the crowd and is not for the faint hearted so I
salute you all for investing your time and hard
earned money to develop
yourselves.
In time as you carry out your day
with care and compassion, colleagues will turn
to you for your opinion and assistance. These
small individual acts from you will gain
momentum until they contribute to an unstoppable
movement.
